CBS 0.3 mL model This straw comprises two separate parts separated by a white plug. The first part contains semen and has a capacity of 0.3 mL. The second part accommodates the colored identification rod and is used for holding when handling liquid nitrogen.
CBS 0.5 mL model This model features the same technical specifications as the 0.3 mL straw, except that it has a capacity of 0.5 mL and the external surface of the plug is colored.
The straws are filled individually using a sterile yellow filling nozzle and a micro-aspirator or a syringe with a specific fitting.
For perfect sealing quality, SYMS or SYMS III sealers must be used on both ends, with the straws clean and dry.
For mass production applications (e.g. sperm banks), CBS High Security straws are filled and sealed with a semi-automatic machine: PACE (filling and sealing) or MAPI (filling, sealing and jacket printing).
